Brenda Roads and the Hwymen formed in the fall of 2008 as a collective of veteran Bay Area musicians that have entertained music lovers for over 20 yrs! This year (2010) they've added award winning vocalist Theresa (3sa) Nichols, veteran keyboardist Rick Mendoza, and drummer extraordinaire Kerri Collings to the mix and changed their name to Gypsy Hyway. Together they bring a colorful palette of Roots Blues, Classic Rock, MOTOWN, and Old Skool Funk that people of all ages enjoy.
They have recently opened for "2009 Blues Entertainer of the Year Janiva Magness", and international recording star "Ana Popovic."
Anchoring "Open Mic Night" jams for years at several venues has given them the opportunity to meet many of the local musicians who frequently come out and sit in. You never know who you might get to see at a Gypsy Hyway show!!
